An aged shu from the Bing Dao area that I'd file under 'for the state it gives'. Select material with a high bud content gives a clean, silky profile without the slightest coarseness — that particular Lincang where sweetness is built into the body of the tea. Over more than 20 years of storage it has fully settled: the liquor is dense, dark and light on the palate. The taste reads dates, caramel and soft dry wood, with a long sweet finish and no sharpness. This is already puer at a very kind price. Take it and smile.
